These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SyllableReader browser extension and website at syllablereader.com, operated by WADDAWOO LIMITED. By installing or using SyllableReader, you agree to these Terms.

SyllableReader provides a browser extension that reads webpage text aloud and provides visual reading aids. The extension is available in a free Lite tier and paid Pro and Elite tiers, as described at syllablereader.com/pricing.

3. Licence and permitted use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use SyllableReader for your own reading and accessibility purposes. You may not:

• Share, sell, or transfer your licence key to another person
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the extension
• Use the extension for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent the licence validation system
• Use automated means to access or stress-test our licence validation API

4. Subscriptions and payments

Pro and Elite subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, Inc., who acts as Merchant of Record for all transactions. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date.

You can manage, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal — the link is included in your purchase confirmation email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.

Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Lemon Squeezy handles all VAT and sales tax obligations on our behalf. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.

5. Free trial

SyllableReader offers a 7-day free trial of Pro and Elite features. No payment is required and no payment details are collected during the trial. The trial activates locally within the extension and resets automatically after 7 days. Each device is eligible for one trial period.

6. Cancellation and your right to a refund

Because SyllableReader offers a free 7-day trial before any payment is taken, we encourage you to use the trial to evaluate the product before subscribing.

Your statutory cancellation right: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of your first payment being taken (the "cooling-off period") and receive a full refund. To exercise this right, contact us at support@syllablereader.com within 14 days of payment and we will process your refund promptly.

After the cooling-off period: We do not offer refunds for monthly or annual subscriptions once the 14-day period has passed, except in cases of a billing error or a serious technical fault that prevents you from using the service entirely. If you believe either applies to you, contact us and we will review your case fairly. Our full refund process is described at syllablereader.com/refund.

7. Licence keys

Your licence key is issued by Lemon Squeezy upon purchase and emailed to you. Each subscription covers up to 2 device activations. Licence keys must not be shared or distributed. If we detect misuse or sharing, we reserve the right to deactivate the key. In such cases no refund will be issued.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep SyllableReader available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Where a paid feature is permanently removed, we will notify affected subscribers with reasonable advance notice and offer a pro-rated refund or equivalent compensation.

9. Intellectual property

SyllableReader and all associated software, branding, and content are the intellectual property of WADDAWOO LIMITED. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. "OpenDyslexic" font used in the Dyslexia Font feature is provided under its own open licence.

10. Limitation of liability

SyllableReader is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from your use of the extension or website.

Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice to active subscribers. Continued use of SyllableReader after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
