1. Try before you pay
Every new user gets a 7-day free trial of Pro and Elite features โ no payment required, no card details collected. We strongly encourage you to use the trial before subscribing. The trial activates from within the extension toolbar and resets automatically after 7 days.
2. Your statutory 14-day cancellation right
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a legal right to cancel your subscription and receive a full refund within 14 days of your first payment being taken. This is sometimes called the "cooling-off period".
๐ How to use your cooling-off right: Email support@syllablereader.com within 14 days of your first payment with the subject line "Cancellation request". Include your order email address or licence key. We will confirm cancellation and issue a full refund within 14 days (usually within 3โ5 business days).
This right applies to monthly and annual subscriptions on their first payment only. Renewal payments are not covered by the statutory cooling-off right.

Within 14 days of first payment
You are entitled to a full refund under your statutory cooling-off right, no questions asked.
Billing error
You were charged the wrong amount, charged twice, or charged after cancelling. We will refund immediately.
Serious technical fault
A bug prevents you from using the core service at all and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time. Contact us and we will assess fairly.
Change of mind (after 14 days)
You changed your mind, found an alternative, or simply no longer need the product after the cooling-off period has passed.
Renewal charges
Your subscription renewed and you forgot to cancel beforehand. You can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.
Licence key misuse detected
Your licence key was deactivated due to sharing or misuse in breach of our Terms of Service.
4. Annual subscriptions
Annual subscriptions follow the same 14-day cooling-off rule. After 14 days from your first annual payment, we do not offer pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of the year unless a serious fault applies. You can cancel at any time to prevent renewal, and you retain access for the remainder of the paid period.
5. How to cancel your subscription
You can cancel at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal โ the link is included in your original purchase confirmation email. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of your current billing period. No refund is issued for the current period unless you are within the 14-day cooling-off window.
6. How to request a refund
To request a refund, email us at support@syllablereader.com with:
- The email address used at checkout, or your licence key
- The date of purchase
- The reason for your request
We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method and typically appear within 5โ10 business days depending on your card provider. Lemon Squeezy processes all refunds on our behalf.
7. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits your rights under UK consumer protection law. This includes your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service is not as described or not fit for purpose. If you are unsatisfied with how we handle your refund request, you may also raise a complaint with the relevant consumer authority or seek resolution through alternative dispute resolution.
