Choose your browser below and follow the steps. No account, no email, no payment. After install, we'll show you how to start your 7-day Pro or Elite trial.

🟡
Google Chrome

The easiest way to get SyllableReader. Works on Chrome versions 90 and above — if you haven't updated Chrome in the last two years, update first.

1

Open the SyllableReader listing

Click the button below. It will open the Chrome Web Store in a new tab. You'll see the SyllableReader listing with a blue Add to Chrome button on the right.

Open Chrome Web Store →
2

Click "Add to Chrome"

A confirmation popup appears listing the permissions the extension needs. These are required to read text on webpages and show the toolbar. Click Add extension.

3

Pin the extension (optional but recommended)

Click the puzzle-piece icon in your browser toolbar (top-right). Find SyllableReader in the list and click the pin icon next to it. This keeps it visible so you can access it quickly.

4

Visit any webpage

Open any article, blog post, or website. The SyllableReader toolbar appears automatically at the bottom of the page.

5

Click play

Click the green All button in the toolbar. The page begins reading aloud with each word highlighted. You're done.

⚡ Tip: Chrome auto-updates SyllableReader in the background every few hours. You never need to install updates manually.

🎁 How to start your 7-day free trial

Pro and Elite features are free to try for 7 days with no payment or account needed. Here's how:

  4. The badge updates to show PRO TRIAL 7d. All Pro or Elite features are now unlocked.
  5. The trial resets automatically after 7 days. You can upgrade at any time from the toolbar or from syllablereader.com/upgrade.

Troubleshooting

If something's not working after install, check these common fixes first.

I don't see the toolbar on the page
Refresh the page — the extension activates only on pages loaded after installation. If it still doesn't appear, check the puzzle-piece icon in your browser toolbar to confirm SyllableReader is enabled. Some minimal pages (like chrome://settings or about:blank) are restricted and can't run extensions.
The extension is installed but nothing happens when I click "All"
Make sure you're on a webpage with text content. The extension needs actual text to read. Also check that your browser's audio isn't muted. If the toolbar shows but clicking buttons does nothing, try refreshing the page.
My licence key says it's invalid
The key format is XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX. Always paste rather than type to avoid errors. Check for extra spaces before or after. If it still fails, contact support@syllablereader.com with your order reference.
The voice sounds robotic
Try switching voices. On Chrome and Edge, open the extension Features panel and look for Voice Selector (Elite) or your browser's native voice options. Modern browsers include several natural-sounding voices.
I want to uninstall
Right-click the SyllableReader icon in your browser toolbar and choose Remove from Chrome (or equivalent). If you have a paid subscription, cancel it separately through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal — the link is in your purchase confirmation email.
