🔜 Apple Devices & Safari (Coming Soon)
Current Status (March 2026)
SyllableReader does not currently work on Safari or any iPad/iPhone.
Future Plans – Safari Version Coming Q3-Q4 2026
We are developing a Safari version that will work on:
- Safari on macOS (Big Sur 11.0+) – All features
- Safari on iPad (iPadOS 15+) – All features
- Safari on iPhone (iOS 15+) – All features
- Elite Shadowing Mode may have limitations on iOS
Why doesn’t it work now?
Safari uses a different extension format (Safari Web Extensions) than Chrome. Converting requires:
- 40-60 hours of development time
- Apple Developer account ($99/year)
- App Store review process (2-4 weeks)
- Touch interface optimization for iOS
Timeline
Safari support is targeted for Q3-Q4 2026 (approximately 6-9 months after Chrome launch). This timeline allows us to:
- Gather feedback from Chrome users
- Ensure stability before porting
- Optimize for iOS touch interfaces
- Complete App Store requirements
